About the School of Art and Design

The School of Art and Design, formerly known as the Department of Decoration Design founded in 2002, was renamed the Department of Industrial Design in 2005, the Department of Art was established in 2008, the School of Art was established in 2014, and the School of Art was officially renamed the School of Art and Design in July 2020. The college consists of six departments: Department of Fine Arts, Department of Environmental Design, Department of Product Design, Department of Visual Communication Design, Department of Digital Media Art, and Department of Landscape Architecture. At present, there are eight professional directions of fine arts (oil painting, Chinese painting), product design, visual communication, digital media, environmental design (interior design, landscape design), landscape architecture and art design (graphic design, environmental art design, industrial design, public art design), and fine arts (oil painting, Chinese painting, calligraphy, sculpture). The three majors of fine arts, environmental design and visual communication design were selected as first-class undergraduate majors in Jiangsu Province.
